Chapter 15 8x Scope
Chapter 15 8x Scope
"Aaaaaah, Fuck! Fuck!"
Before Eugene could figure out what was happening, he screamed in agony.
Gavin's grip was so strong that he felt his fingers being squeezed into the gun!
And the police officer William.
One second he was excitedly carrying his shirt, hoping to get his idol's autograph.
The next second, he received his idol's big gun, and it was even shoved directly into his mouth...
"Mmm?"
William bit down on Colt's gun barrel, utterly bewildered, his eyes filled with incomprehension and a hint of turning from a fan to a hater.
After Gavin instantly subdued the two men, he whispered to Madison.
"Old Mike, go search it up."
OK.
Madison nodded menacingly, walked up to Eugene with a cold face, and yanked the revolver off.
"Ouch! Be gentle! My hand is going to break!"
While Eugene screamed in agony, Madison continued searching Eugene's body and found a survival dagger on the inside of his left calf.
After untying the scabbard and the straps, Madison drew the dagger and examined its blade.
"Gavin, this knife looks good, what do you think?"
"It's really nice, the pattern is quite pretty."
Gavin responded with a shout, then kicked Eugene in the stomach. Eugene immediately clutched his stomach and fell to his knees, curling up and groaning with his head on the ground.
Madison then took William's police USP and nodded to Gavin.
Seeing this, Gavin pulled the gun out of William's mouth.
Once he was finally able to speak, William hurriedly waved his hands and staggered as he spoke.
"Are you really the two sports stars I thought you were? God, you look like two robbers doing an impersonation show!"
"Damn it, my mind is a mess. There's no way I could mistake him. I'm a die-hard Gavin fan, how could I possibly mistake Gavin!"
"So you really did steal from me, but you really did steal from me too. So it seems you stole the gas station from me as well, you..."
"Shut your mouth."
Seeing that William was talking nonstop once he started, Gavin pressed the muzzle of his gun against his chest.
Feeling the hardness of Colt, William swallowed and nodded in response.
"OK, I won't say anything!"
"Very good, now I'll ask you a question and you can answer it."
Gavin nodded, kicked the whimpering Eugene, and asked William.
"Is he your cousin?"
"That's right, he's my cousin."
"Where do you live?"
"We both live in Ennis, less than 20 kilometers from here."
How many people are in your family?
"My mom passed away six years ago. I live with my dad and my eleven-year-old brother. As for Eugene, that guy is a jerk. He doesn't own a house and hangs out with his sister all the time."
"Fuck you, William, you're the fucking bastard!"
Eugene struggled to lift his head and interrupted William with a curse.
William spat on the ground beside him and continued speaking.
"You're a fucking worthless bastard, Eugene. Your brother-in-law has been dead for two years, and your sister has a two-year-old child to raise. Even with these conditions, your sister still has to buy you alcohol. How can you face your sister like this?!"
"Bullshit! I built her fence, I mowed her lawn, I fixed her drains, and I patched up her roof. You think I did nothing but lie on the sofa all day waiting to eat oatmeal?"
"But if you don't look for a job, and you don't earn money, you're just a useless person lazing around at home. If you don't even do the chores you're supposed to do, then you're the worst of the worst!"
"Fuck you, William, I'm going to cut your tongue off and stuff it into your ass..."
"That's enough!"
Gavin abruptly interrupted their argument, stomping Eugene to the ground.
With Gavin stepping on his chest, Eugene's chest heaved violently, while his eyes glared fiercely at William.
Seeing this, Gavin pointed his gun at William's chest and said.
"Shut up, let him do it."
As soon as he finished speaking, Gavin turned to Eugene on the ground and asked.
"You said you hit and killed someone in the car?"
"Yes, he was hit and killed, but what's it to you? You think you're the Dallas Batman, cowboy!"
Eugene replied, cursing.
Gavin ignored his profanity and continued to ask him questions.
"Tell me where you bumped into someone, and what kind of 'person' you hit?"
"Damn, the first person to arrest me was the infamous Gavin King. I'm such a joker."
Eugene shook his head unhappily, then replied with a resentful look on his face.
"I just dragged that idiot all the way to Hutchins, and then, right on the way into the town, we found a film crew shooting a scene!"
"What movie are you filming?" Gavin immediately asked.
After a brief moment of recollection, Eugene cursed with lingering fear.
"It's a fucking zombie movie. Those guys look like zombies from The Walking Dead, but their costumes are terrible. There's not even a drop of blood on them. It's probably some third-rate production crew."
"Really? They're gathered outside the town. What other conspicuous things are nearby, like a crashed plane, stray dogs, overturned cars, or something like that?"
Gavin pressed further, and Eugene immediately responded.
"Yes, there is an overturned oil tanker, but it's far away."
"And then? And then you left?"
"Bullshit, if I didn't leave, would I just stand there and get caught? I just hit someone and turned around and ran away."
"Luckily, the film crew didn't send a car to chase me, but they must have called the police. When the police arrive, I might get a few more news reports thanks to you, you big star!"
"Stop talking nonsense and continue. Why did you pass by Hutchins?"
"To get that idiot to a hospital in Dallas, the doctor's daughter from Ennistown is his ex-girlfriend, so he insisted on going to the city to get his leg in a cast. What a damn fuss!"
At this point, Eugene spat at William, who quickly jumped away.
Meanwhile, while Gavin was still pondering, Eugene continued to mutter to himself.
"You son of a bitch William, it's all your dad's fault! Now look what's happened, I'm going to go mess with that prison lord's slut!"
"You're talking nonsense! My dad's almost sixty, what could he possibly have done wrong!"
William couldn't hold back and roared back.
Upon hearing this, Eugene scoffed, looked up at the sky with a desolate gaze, and murmured to himself.
"Forget it, it doesn't matter anymore, there's no point in saying anything now."
"When you get home, remember to tell your dad that the nail gun he used to fix the roof yesterday was one I lent him six months ago!"
"He told me six months ago that his nail gun was lost, and I didn't even ask him to pay for it. But today, he took it out and used it again while repairing the roof. Does he think I'm a goldfish and can't recognize which nail gun is mine?"
"What?"
William was startled by Eugene's statement and quickly asked Eugene for clarification.
"Fuck, my dad's memory has really been failing him these past few years. He might be getting Alzheimer's. So you ran out of my shop not to steal money to buy masochism, but to grab your own nail gun?"
"What else am I supposed to do? You're not home. I argued with your dad all afternoon, but he won't admit it, Mazefak!"
"Then why did you run away when you saw me coming home from working overtime?"
"Don't you think it's embarrassing for your dad and me that I broke into your house and stole your things?!"
"I almost broke my ankle after just two steps of chasing you. Is your mess more shameful than mine?"
"Damn it, this is really bad luck. Your dad owes me one, and you owe me one too. Don't forget to find me a lawyer!"
"I will. I'll talk to my dad when I get back, and then I'll find you the best lawyer!"
"As for the incident where you hit someone, I will testify for you. We will say that you did not flee the scene of the accident, but were in a hurry to take me to the hospital. Hopefully, this will reduce your sentence by two years."
William said dejectedly to Eugene, who scoffed dismissively and turned away from William, lying on the ground.
Watching Eugene's figure, William couldn't bear it and turned his head away.
He and Eugene have known each other for twenty years and are even related by marriage; they are extremely close.
Except for Eugene, who served in the army for seven or eight years, they always hung out together.
Although Eugene was nine years older than him, they were from the same generation and didn't have much of a generation gap; they got along very well.
Now, Eugene is actually going to be sentenced for a bunch of messy, trivial matters...
William was at a loss for words. He felt both regretful and ashamed, and he even began to resent his father.
Just as William was feeling down, Gavin suddenly looked to the right, towards the direction of William's town.
Noticing Gavin's actions, Madison glanced at the road twice and then nervously asked Gavin a question.
"I can't see anything, so what is there?"
"A human figure, moving much slower than a zombie, and I couldn't make out anything else."
After responding, Gavin lifted his foot off Eugene on the ground and asked him.
"Do you have binoculars in your car?"
"I have an 8x scope, which I brought back from the army. It's in my trunk."
"key."
"for you."
Eugene threw the car keys away and sat up with a grimace.
