Chapter 6 Attribute Values
Chapter 6 Attribute Values
When Tornado woke up, it was already completely dark outside the window.
I could hear even breathing beside me.
Fubuki curled up next to her, her black hair spread out on the white pillow, her small hands clutching the corner of the blanket, fast asleep.
Tornado looked at her sister's face to make sure she was still there. Then she gently pulled the blanket up to cover Fubuki's exposed shoulders.
There were two pairs of slippers on the side of the bed.
One pair was navy blue, and the other was pink. Both were fluffy, with rabbit ears on the uppers.
She stared at the two pairs of slippers for a moment, then put on the navy blue ones. The soles made a soft, squelching sound on the wooden floor. They were a little big, but very warm.
A floor lamp was lit in the living room, casting a warm yellow light. The computer screen was also on, displaying pages she couldn't understand.
He Quan sat in front of the computer, one hand holding the mouse, the other supporting his chin. The light from the screen illuminated his face, outlining the contours of his profile. Hearing footsteps, he put down the mouse and turned his head.
"woke up?"
Tornado stood at the entrance of the corridor, her hands hanging down at the sides of her skirt. There was a small wrinkle in the hem of her navy blue skirt, from when she was sleeping. A few strands of her hair also stood up, looking like a small clump of unruly grass in the warm yellow light.
She didn't say anything, she just looked at him.
"Your name?" she asked. "You've never told me."
"He Quan."
After he finished speaking, he stood up, walked to the sofa, and sat down. The sofa cushion sank in, and he patted the spot next to him, gesturing for Tornado to sit down.
"He Quan."
Tornado silently repeated it to herself, then walked over and sat down next to him. There was a fist's distance between them.
He Quan placed one hand on her head and ruffled it. The warmth of his hand seeped through her hair. Her head swayed with the movement of that hand, making her hair even more disheveled.
"I bought you some clothes and daily necessities."
He Quan said, "Once I've earned enough money in a while, we can move to a better apartment."
"Yes, thank you."
Tornado lowered her head. Her toes lightly touched the coffee table leg.
She was very grateful to He Quan, who not only took her away from the research institute and picked up her sister with her, but also told Fubuki directly about what she had been keeping to herself.
Although he occasionally says strange things, she thinks He Quan is a very good person.
Until she heard He Quan say, "Don't just talk the talk, you have to show your gratitude with actions!"
Tornado: "..."
She looked up and met his gaze.
His expression was indeed very serious; he didn't seem to be joking.
"What do you want?"
Tornado's tone was tinged with wariness, but mostly with confusion. Aside from her superpowers, she couldn't think of anything she could offer him.
"I have something very important to tell you," He Quan said, looking at her and emphasizing each word, "I need your help."
Seeing how serious He Quan was, Tornado sat up a little straighter.
How can I help you?
Her voice became serious. The pale green glow flickered briefly and then went out, as if preparing.
He Quan said, "Stretch out your foot."
The fireflies went out completely.
"???"
Tornado's mind went blank for a brief moment.
She opened her mouth, then closed it again. Her brows furrowed, and she blinked.
"This...this..."
She didn't know what to say.
What kind of request is this? What does this have to do with helping him?
But she still moved.
Tornado turned around on the sofa and slowly stretched out her leg. The movement was slow, as if she were doing something that required repeated confirmation.
The dark blue skirt slid down to above her knees, and the white pantyhose gleamed softly under the warm yellow light.
She placed her feet on He Quan's knees, then quickly turned her face to the other side.
"And then? How can I help you?"
The tips of her ears turned red.
He Quan did not answer.
He looked at the pair of small feet resting on his knees.
White pantyhose hugged her slender figure, forming a smooth arc from ankle to toe.
His feet were so small that he could hold them completely in one hand.
The arch of her foot was slightly raised, casting a soft shadow beneath the fabric of the pantyhose.
The outline of the toes was faintly visible, like a row of pink seashells hidden in the snow, neatly clustered together, with the very last toe slightly curled up, carrying a hint of unease.
Because of nervousness, her toes curled slightly and then relaxed. The white fabric creased slightly as a result.
Tornado felt He Quan's gaze fall on her feet.
The feeling was strange, like something warm was pressed against her. Her toes curled up involuntarily again.
Tornado's shoulders tensed. She lowered her face further, letting her drooping green hair obscure her expression.
Then, a strange, warm touch landed on the back of her foot.
Tornado bit her lower lip hard.
What is this?
She dared not think any further.
He Quan's talent was automatically activated.
Its texture is like freshly steamed milk pudding—smooth, soft, and slightly elastic. It's also like a peeled lychee, its translucent white tinged with a pale pink, leaving a mark with the slightest touch.
Each toe is round and plump, like a hard candy.
Tornado gripped the sofa fabric tightly with both hands. She could feel her heart racing, so fast it was almost uncomfortable.
My cheeks felt like they were burning, my ears were burning, even my neck was burning. An indescribable sensation spread from my feet, up my calves, down my spine, and all the way to the top of my head.
She didn't know what this feeling was like. No one had touched her like this in the three years she had spent at the research institute, nor before.
Her parents were frightened by the supernatural phenomena she created, and even hugged her with extreme caution. She had never known what it felt like to be touched so earnestly by someone.
She wanted to use her superpowers to push He Quan away.
The fireflies lit up and then went out, lit up and then went out again.
She ultimately did not push him away.
He glanced at the system panel.
Free attribute points: 0.02...0.03...0.04...
The numbers are fluctuating, gradually increasing.
He Quan tasted it very carefully and patiently. It was as if he were savoring a dessert that needed to be appreciated slowly, not missing a single detail and repeatedly checking each part.
0.25......0.30......0.35......
The tornado did not turn back, nor did it dare to.
0.50......0.60......0.70......
About half an hour later, He Quan finally stopped.
He gently lowered the tornado's feet.
The tornado did not move.
She seemed to have all her strength drained away, and leaned limply against the back of the sofa.
He Quan reached out, pulled her into his arms, and held her close.
Her body was light and soft, like a little animal that had just finished playing. Her head rested against his chest, and through her clothes, he could feel the warmth of her cheek.
"Thank you."
He Quan said. His voice was very soft, landing on her head.
Tornado didn't respond. After a long while, she finally spoke, her voice muffled in his arms: "Is...this really helping you?"
"Yes."
He Quan's answer was very certain.
She was silent for a moment. Then, she nodded very slightly. The movement was so small that it was almost as if her chin brushed against his chest.
He Quan held her in his arms, gently patting her back with one hand.
Her breathing gradually calmed down, and her body temperature slowly decreased. He didn't let go, and she showed no intention of leaving.
He looked at the system panel again.
Free attribute points: 2.0
Two attribute points in just half an hour.
Tornado's potential is too high. The future second-ranked S-class Tornado's power is beyond doubt.
If it were fubuki, it would probably take several hours to accumulate this many.
A few hours.
Well... it doesn't seem like such a bad thing.
He Quan was willing to enjoy the experience for several more hours.
He glanced down at the tornado in his arms. Her eyes were completely closed, and her breathing was even. A thin layer of moisture clung to her eyelashes, shimmering faintly in the light.
He picked her up and carried her into the room.
Fubuki remained in the same position, half of the blanket kicked off. He Quan gently placed Tornado next to Fubuki and covered both of them with the blanket.
He Quan stood by the bed for a while, then returned to the living room and began to ponder.
His physique is considered robust among ordinary people, but in the system's assessment, his physique is only 0.5 and his strength is only 0.5.
I currently have 2 free attribute points.
These two free attribute points, whether added to Strength or Constitution, will be a significant boost.
These two basic attributes, Strength and Constitution, each encompass a wide range of abilities.
Strength is not just about muscle strength; it also affects a range of physical abilities, including speed, explosiveness, agility, and sensory acuity.
Physical attributes are even more complex, including not only temperament and charm, endurance, recovery speed, cell activity, and energy metabolism, but also physical attacks, magical damage, abnormal statuses... In short, it is all-round resistance.
The improvement in his physical condition will make him more resilient when facing external blows, and even able to withstand some injuries that ordinary people cannot bear.
It also includes the most important benefit: increasing lifespan and maintaining youth.
He Quan figured that since free attribute points were quick and easy to obtain, he would distribute the two attribute points equally.
Improving one's physique brings many benefits, while increasing one's strength will directly affect his daily activities and combat abilities.
Although he can temporarily use Superman's powers, they are not truly his own.
That power is fleeting, like a flash in the pan; it will disappear when the time comes.
As his attribute points increased, He Quan felt subtle changes within his body.
The muscle fibers grew thicker, as if each fiber was brimming with vitality and elasticity. He gently clenched his fist, feeling an unprecedented power gathering at his fingertips, as if he could shatter rocks with a single punch.
The bones are also quietly becoming stronger, as if they have been reforged, becoming harder without losing their flexibility.
His physique did not become muscular and bulky like tumors due to the increase in attributes. His body shape maintained its original evenness and coordination, and the muscle lines remained distinct, showing both strength and healthy beauty.
He Quan moved around a bit in the bedroom, and with his increased strength, his movements became smoother and more powerful than before.
He first leaped lightly, feeling the lightness of his body in the air, as if the constraints of gravity on him had lessened. Each landing was so stable, without the slightest unnecessary sway.
Then, he swung his fist, each strike accompanied by a whistling sound, the explosive power making his fist seem to tear through the air. He could feel the tension in his muscles as he exerted force, and the exhilaration of releasing it.
His movements were no longer restricted; every movement was a perfect combination of power and speed.
He Quan mentally gave himself a thumbs up, then walked out of the room.
Tornado lay on her side on the bed, her eyes half-open, her gaze fixed on him. She could sense that something had changed about He's entire body.
He Quan noticed her gaze, walked to the bedside, squatted down, and looked at her at eye level.
"Hehe, that's how I got stronger! You wouldn't believe it, would you?"
He spoke very frankly, without the slightest embarrassment.
Tornado: "..."
She looked at He Quan's self-righteous face, opened her mouth, then closed it again.
Then she turned over, turned the back of her head toward him, and pulled the blanket over her head.
